Work at The Lodge!

It takes a lot of dedicated people to end domestic violence! We are looking for smart, compassionate, hard-working people to join our team, and you might have just the skills we need. Whether you're up for advocating for victim’s rights or are more comfortable working behind the scenes, this could be the place for you. The positions require a variety of skills and backgrounds. Take a look at our open positions to see if you have what it takes to join the fight to end domestic violence. If you don't see anything right now, check back often—things are always changing around here.

Empowerment-based Advocacy

Empowerment-based advocacy is survivor-focused. The needs of the survivor are essential and drive the relationship between survivor and advocate. It is not about informing the survivor what is best for them or assuming that because a survivor is in crisis mode, that they are incapable of making decisions. It is about valuing each woman's individuality and survival skills. It is accepting that each woman is an expert in her own life and assisting her in taking back control from the batterer. Empowerment not only an individual process that returns control to the survivor; it is also a political endeavor that invites survivors to assist other battered women in order to build a collective strength among all women.
